A dark day has been added to Canadian aviation history in the southern province of Manitoba. In the morning hours, two single-engine aircraft conducting a training flight over the Hanover region collided mid-air. Both student pilots aboard the two aircraft lost their lives in the crash.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) reported that the collision occurred around 8:45 a.m. local time and confirmed that only the two student pilots were on board, with no other passengers involved. Following the accident, extensive security measures were implemented in the area, and an investigation was initiated.
Accident During Training Flight
Adam Penner, the director of the flight school providing pilot training, stated that the incident occurred during a routine training flight. Penner said, “This tragedy has deeply shaken both our institution and the entire aviation community.”
