The second deportation flight from the US to Iran has taken place!

The United States has accelerated its deportation operations targeting Iranian migrants. While Tehran announced that the second deportation flight has departed from the US, it is reported that a total of 400 Iranians are planned to be sent back.

During Donald Trump’s second term in office, US immigration policies have toughened once again, and within this framework, deportation procedures concerning Iranian nationals have gained momentum. Iranian officials confirmed that the second deportation flight departing from the US has taken off towards Tehran. The Iranian side states that Washington plans to deport nearly 400 Iranians in total.

According to statements from Tehran, most of the migrants being deported have been processed within the scope of the increased security and immigration controls recently implemented against foreigners in the US. According to Iran’s official judicial news agency Mizan, an Iranian Foreign Ministry official, Mojtaba Shasti Karimi, confirmed that 55 Iranians were deported in the first stage.

Karimi stated that these individuals had expressed willingness to return due to the continuation of what was described as anti-immigrant and discriminatory practices in the US targeting Iranian nationals.

Tehran: “Iranians were sent back due to legal reasons”

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said in a statement on Sunday that the return process of 55 Iranians had been planned, adding that US authorities deported these individuals on the grounds of “legal violations and non-compliance with immigration regulations.”

Baghaei criticised the US approach towards Iranian nationals and emphasised that Iranians are free to return to their country.

It is not yet known whether the aircraft has reached Tehran

US authorities have not made any statement regarding the deportation flight. There is no official information about the arrival status of the aircraft that took off towards Tehran.

In September, Iranian officials stated that up to 400 Iranians could be expelled from the US under the new policy implemented during the Trump administration. It was also confirmed that the first deportation flight conducted in the same month had landed in Tehran.
