The “Airport Innovation Days” event, organized for the second time this year by TAV Airports to promote innovation in future airport and mobility solutions, attracted great interest at Ankara Esenboğa Airport. During the event held in Turkey by TAV Airports and Groupe ADP in collaboration with Sifted, part of the Financial Times Group, the ventures Sensemore, Assistbox, and Waste Log stood out as they received awards based on the jury’s evaluation.
The event kicked off with speeches by TAV Airports Executive Board Member Franck Mereyde and Esenboğa Airport General Manager Nuray Demirer, and throughout the day, the finalist ventures presented their projects and interacted with the jury and participants.
Franck Mereyde, TAV Airports Executive: “Our Global Network Reaches 110 Airports in 33 Countries”
TAV Airports Executive Board Member Franck Mereyde noted that TAV Airports operates a broad global network reaching 110 airports across 33 countries. “As part of Groupe ADP, the world’s largest airport operating platform, we serve 336 million passengers annually. Our strategy is built on three main pillars: enhancing the passenger experience, ensuring sustainability, and supporting digitalization. By fostering the entrepreneurial ecosystem, we aim to improve our operations and minimize our environmental impact through innovative solutions,” he stated.
Awards Presented in Three Categories
The ventures that passed the preliminary evaluation competed in three categories: “Airport Operations,” “Green Airport,” and “Passenger Experience.” The first-place winner, Sensemore, provides AI-supported technology to enhance machine performance and predict failures in advance, reducing maintenance costs. Assistbox, which came in second, offers video-based solutions to meet institutions’ video communication needs quickly and effectively. Waste Log, which received third place, provides an innovative platform for waste management, contributing to reducing environmental impact through real-time waste tracking and reporting.
Paris Opportunity for Winning Ventures
The winning ventures Sensemore, Assistbox, and Waste Log will have the chance to showcase their projects at an event held at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport on December 4. The top winner will have the opportunity to test their solution in a real-world environment within a TAV Airports facility under a Proof of Concept (PoC) project. Additionally, all three ventures will receive international promotional support from Sifted.
Event Continues in Amman and Paris
The Airport Innovation Days event will continue on November 6 at Queen Alia Airport in Amman, Jordan, and on December 4 at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport in France.
