Celebrating its 20th anniversary last month, Tailwind Airlines successfully completed a comprehensive renewal and restructuring process in 2025. Following this transformation, the company is entering a new phase in 2026 with a focus on operational efficiency, fleet transformation and sustainable growth.
In the restructuring process carried out with reference to the company’s founding vision and core values, strengthening financial discipline, embedding a lean management approach across the organisation and increasing operational agility were prioritised. During this period, Tailwind Airlines increased its brand awareness in new markets, particularly in Eastern Europe, while further strengthening its relationships with loyal business partners.

Commenting on 2025, Tailwind Airlines General Manager Efe Erten evaluated the transformation process implemented in the airline’s 20th year as follows: “The most important task entrusted to us was to strengthen our airline’s financial structure and restructure the company with reference to our founding vision and values. Thanks to the outstanding efforts of our young teams with aviation experience and our full alignment with senior management, we achieved our targets without compromising financial discipline. The positive results and indicators we achieved by the end of the year clearly demonstrate that 2025 was a very successful year for Tailwind.”
Operational efficiency-focused growth in 2026
Stating that operational efficiency has been defined as the main theme for 2026, Erten shared the following details regarding their plans: “One of our priorities in 2026 will be to expand our flight network. We aim to manage our company with optimum resource utilisation and high efficiency. By also leveraging the continuous maintenance and technical support advantage provided by our group, we will continue to deliver the flight operations we conduct for our business partners on time and at the expected quality.”
Erten noted that they plan to add a third Boeing 737-800 aircraft to the fleet at the start of the new season and stated that they aim to expand the operational network, including markets in which they have not previously operated. In line with the fleet transformation process, following the activation of the third Boeing 737-800, the goal is to reach a fleet of at least seven aircraft by the end of 2027 by adding one or two aircraft of the same type each year.
To double the number of tourists carried to Türkiye in 2026
Preparing for an intensive operational period in 2026, Tailwind Airlines aims to operate flights to Türkiye from 23 different cities. Through full charter flights to be operated for existing and new business partners, the company aims to double the number of passengers travelling to Türkiye with Tailwind in 2026. This expansion is considered an important part of the strategy to grow the flight network in a balanced and sustainable manner.
A new era under the AMAC Aerospace Group
One of the most exciting items on Tailwind Airlines’ 2026 roadmap is the process of joining the AMAC Aerospace Group, recently announced in Switzerland by Group Executive Chairman Kadri Muhiddin.
Upon completion of this process, it is planned that Tailwind Airlines will undergo a significant vision change under the group structure, taking reference from the technical expertise and corporate know-how of the AMAC Aerospace Group, which holds a strong global position in the fields of maintenance, repair and aircraft modification.
