Airbus has appointed Matthieu Louvot as CEO of Airbus Helicopters effective 1 April 2026. Louvot will report to Guillaume Faury.

Airbus SE (AIR) announced that Matthieu Louvot has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Airbus Helicopters, effective 1 April 2026. Louvot will report to Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury and will join the Airbus Executive Committee.

According to the statement released by Airbus, Matthieu Louvot, who currently serves as Executive Vice President, Strategy within the company, will succeed Bruno Even, who has decided to pursue his personal and professional goals.

Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury placed special emphasis on Bruno Even’s leadership in his remarks regarding the appointment:

“I am extremely grateful for Bruno’s leadership at the helm of Airbus Helicopters over the past eight years. During his tenure, the division expanded its product portfolio, transformed its industrial system, and embarked on a path of sustainable, profitable growth. I respect his decision regarding the next stage of his career.”

Stating that Matthieu Louvot’s deep experience in the helicopter sector and his strong command of Airbus Helicopters’ operational and strategic priorities will ensure a smooth leadership transition, Faury added: “I believe Airbus Helicopters will reach new heights under his leadership.”

From Public Administration to Airbus Leadership

A graduate of École Polytechnique and École Nationale d’Administration (ENA), Matthieu Louvot began his career in the French public administration. Louvot, who also served as an industrial adviser at the Office of the President of France, joined Airbus Helicopters in 2010.

Within Airbus, Louvot has held several senior management positions, including:

  • Executive Vice President, Customer Support and Services
  • Executive Vice President, Programmes

Most recently, he was serving as Executive Vice President responsible for Airbus’ corporate strategy.

Strategy Executive Vice President Appointment to Be Announced Later

Following Matthieu Louvot’s appointment as CEO of Airbus Helicopters, it was announced that the individual who will assume the role of Airbus Executive Vice President, Strategy will be disclosed at a later date.
