The event, which evaluated outstanding performances by airports, airlines, destinations, and individuals, saw Athens International Airport win both the Overall Winner Award and the top spot in the Over 20 Million Passengers category.
Athens International Airport: Record Passenger Numbers
In 2024, Athens Airport served 31.9 million passengers, exceeding pre-pandemic levels by 25%. During the first eight months of 2025, the airport recorded a 6.8% increase, continuing its growth with new services launched by American Airlines to Charlotte and Norse Atlantic Airways to Los Angeles. Aegean Airlines and IndiGo are preparing to open new routes to India in 2026.
