Riviera Travel Welcomes the Launch of Riviera Resplendence

Riviera Travel has expanded its European river cruise fleet with the launch of Riviera Resplendence, the third vessel in the company’s Radiance Class and the latest addition to its growing portfolio of premium river cruises.

The five-star ship departs Cologne on July 4 for its maiden voyage, sailing its Rhine Cruise to Switzerland itinerary before operating a series of itineraries across the Rhine and Danube rivers.

“Riviera Resplendence represents another significant milestone for Riviera Travel as we continue to grow our award-winning river cruise fleet,” said Stuart Milan, President of North America for Riviera Travel, in a media statement. “As demand for premium river cruising continues to grow, we are expanding our fleet with thoughtfully designed ships that allow us to deliver the exceptional experiences and value that define Riviera Travel.”

Resplendence to Travel Europe’s Waterways

Accommodating up to 178 guests in 89 cabins and suites, Riviera Resplendence is a sister ship to Riviera Radiance. It features the cruise line’s signature split-level design, which creates more open public spaces and panoramic views throughout the vessel. Onboard amenities include three dining venues serving regional cuisine, a panoramic lounge and an expansive sun deck.

The ship will operate 18 itineraries across Europe’s waterways, including the Rhine Cruise to Switzerland, Rhine, Moselle & Switzerland River Cruise, The Blue Danube River Cruise and the Budapest to the Black Sea itinerary. The deployment also includes holiday sailings and dedicated departures for solo travelers, giving travel advisors a broader range of options for different client segments.

Designed by Swiss shipbuilder Scylla, the vessel introduces a refreshed interior design featuring warm wood finishes, gold accents and contemporary decor, distinguishing it from earlier ships in the fleet.

The launch is part of Riviera Travel’s broader fleet expansion strategy. The company plans to add two more Radiance Class ships—Riviera Reflection and Riviera Rhapsody—over the next two years.
