Pegasus Airlines has announced the activation timeline of its new maintenance hangars, which will increase the operational efficiency of its fleet. The company’s CEO, Güliz Öztürk, stated that the two planned new hangars will both expand technical capacity and significantly reduce aircraft ground time.
Öztürk shared the following information, noting that under the new investments, the first hangar will be commissioned in January 2026 and the second in October 2026:
“One of our new hangars will be 41,000 square metres and the other 20,000 square metres. However, having the physical space ready is not sufficient on its own; the technical teams who will work here must also achieve the required competencies. Therefore, commissioning our hangars at full capacity will be a phased process.”
Emphasising that the new maintenance centres will directly contribute to Pegasus’s operational strength, Öztürk added:
“Our primary objective is to minimise the time aircraft spend on the ground due to technical maintenance and potential malfunctions. The reduction of these times will increase the utilisation rates of the aircraft in our fleet. Consequently, the rise in efficiency will directly reflect on our revenue performance.”
