At Domodedovo Airport in Russia’s capital Moscow, a taxiing aircraft became stuck in a snowbank due to heavy snowfall. As a result of the incident, the aircraft was unable to take off, and airport staff were forced to clear the taxiway using shovels.
According to information obtained, the incident occurred during a severe snowstorm that was effective on January 9. Images shared on social media show shovels being distributed to airport personnel to open the taxiway.
While operations at Domodedovo Airport were disrupted due to the snowfall, it was reported that approximately 300 flights were delayed on the same day. Heavy snow caused serious disruptions to air traffic in Moscow.
