Victory Cruise Lines has named chef, restaurateur, TV personality and James Beard Award winner Michelle Bernstein as its Culinary Curator & Chef Partner. In the new role, Bernstein will help shape the line’s onboard dining program, with a focus on menus inspired by the destinations visited on its Great Lakes and Canadian coast itineraries.
The long-term partnership is part of Victory Cruise Lines’ ongoing investment in its onboard culinary program, with an emphasis on destination-inspired dining. Working with the line’s culinary team, Bernstein will help develop signature menus, refine onboard dining concepts and create culinary experiences highlighting the flavors and traditions of the Great Lakes and Canadian coastal regions. Her role will also include chef demonstrations, tasting events, digital content and select hosted sailings.
“Though I wasn’t born in the Midwest, it’s always felt like home to me. My father was from Minnesota, and my husband David spent half his life there; to this day, we both still have family who call the Midwest home,” said Chef Bernstein in a media statement. “Over the years we’ve built our own traditions there too, from vacations on Lake Minnetonka to the spot in Chicago where David asked me to marry him. For us, this cruise isn’t just a trip—it’s going back to be with family, and I can’t wait to bring that love straight to the table.”
Bernstein’s partnership will also extend beyond the ship through original digital content, destination-inspired storytelling and other exclusive experiences designed to inspire guests before, during and after their voyage.
