Canadian aircraft manufacturer Bombardier is preparing to break new ground in the business and luxury aviation sector. The Global 8000, set to be officially unveiled by the end of this year, stands out as a more advanced and innovative version of the record-breaking Global 7500 model.
A strong contender for the title of the fastest civil jet of the post-Concorde era, the Global 8000 reaches a maximum speed of Mach 0.94 (1,152 km/h), virtually challenging the sound barrier. In test flights conducted in 2021, it achieved a speed of Mach 1.015 (1,253 km/h), earning the title of the first private jet to break the sound barrier. However, it was also noted that commercial flights would not operate at this speed.
14,816 Kilometers of Range, 19-Passenger Capacity
The Global 8000 pushes boundaries not only with its speed but also in terms of range and comfort. With a range of 8,000 nautical miles (14,816 km), the jet offers unmatched performance on intercontinental flights and can complete ultra-long routes like London-Perth non-stop. With a cabin capacity of up to 19 passengers, the jet distinguishes itself with its quiet environment, pressurization, and luxurious amenities.

Emmanuel Bornand, Bombardier’s Vice President of International Sales, commented on the Global 8000:
“In the past, you had to make trade-offs in aviation—landing at smaller airports, longer range, or a quieter cabin experience. The Global 8000 redefines the industry by offering all of these features in a single aircraft.”
Bombardier’s New Move to the Top
With over 5,000 jets currently in operation worldwide, Bombardier aims to solidify its leading position in luxury aviation with the Global 8000. The company, which became a standout in the industry with the Global 7500 that first carried passengers in 2018, is set to elevate that success even further with the Global 8000.
The new model is expected to be ready for delivery by the end of 2025. Bombardier’s visionary move represents not just the birth of a new jet, but the beginning of a new era in aviation.
