With an average of 1,529 daily flights in April, Istanbul Airport maintained its position at the top as Europe’s busiest airport.
According to the “European Aviation Report” published by EUROCONTROL (European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation), Istanbul Airport had the highest number of flights in April 2025. Leading the list with an average of 1,529 daily flights, the airport continued to dominate European air traffic.
Outpacing Europe’s Major Airports
Istanbul Airport was followed by Amsterdam Schiphol (1,432 flights), London Heathrow (1,393 flights), Paris Charles De Gaulle (1,377 flights), and Frankfurt Airport (1,347 flights).
Drawing attention with its steady increase in flight numbers, Istanbul Airport continues to widen the gap between itself and other major European aviation hubs in terms of both passenger and flight traffic.
