On a Pegasus Airlines flight from London Stansted to Kayseri, a baby who was choking on a foreign object was saved thanks to the calm and swift intervention of the purser.
The Airbus A320 aircraft, tail number TC-DCL, operated by Pegasus Airlines, had taken off from London Stansted Airport en route to Kayseri. During the flight, crew members noticed that a baby was having difficulty breathing and immediately made a call for medical assistance. However, since there were no medical personnel on board, the purser stepped in and performed the Heimlich maneuver.
Thanks to the professional response, the baby, who had a foreign object lodged in their throat, began breathing again shortly afterward. The cabin crew closely monitored the baby’s condition for the remainder of the flight.
After the aircraft landed safely at Kayseri Airport, the baby was handed over to 112 Emergency Medical Services teams who were waiting on the apron. It was reported that the baby was in good health.
