UK–Antalya Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Thessaloniki Due to Fight
A passenger plane flying from the UK to Antalya made an emergency landing at Thessaloniki Airport in Greece after a fight broke out between two passengers. A 35-year-old British passenger attacked a 41-year-old Turkish passenger.
Mid-Flight Assault
According to Greek authorities, the British tourist suddenly became aggressive during the flight and punched the Turkish passenger multiple times. The cabin crew intervened and managed to restore order. However, due to the severity of the incident, the captain decided to make an emergency landing for safety reasons.
Attacker Detained
After landing at Thessaloniki Airport, security teams boarded the plane and detained the aggressive passenger. The suspect is expected to face charges of “interfering with transport,” “intentional injury,” “disobedience,” and “disturbing public order.”
Turkish Passenger in Good Condition
The assaulted Turkish passenger underwent a medical check and was declared fit to continue the journey.
