Emirates Meets Pilot Candidates in Istanbul

Emirates, one of the world’s largest international airlines, continues its recruitment process for experienced pilots to meet growing passenger demand. The airline will hold information and introduction sessions for pilot candidates in Istanbul on 9 June at 10:00 and 14:00, and on 10 June at 10:00 at Le Méridien Istanbul Etiler.

Emirates invites pilot candidates to join its Dubai-based global operations through four different programmes: Direct Entry Captain, Accelerated Command Programme, Licensed First Officer, and Unlicensed First Officer.

No Registration Required, Participation is a Must!

Candidates only need to attend one session, and pre-registration is not required. During the sessions, Emirates will provide detailed information about the recruitment process, career development opportunities, training programmes, and the benefits it offers. Participants will also have the chance to speak one-on-one with current Emirates pilots. For more details, visit www.emiratesgroupcareers.com/pilots.

A Global Career and Dubai Lifestyle for Emirates Pilots

Mehmet Gürkaynak, Emirates’ Country Manager for Turkey, Bulgaria, and Romania, said the following about the process:

“Emirates pilots operate one of the world’s youngest and most modern wide-body fleets, flying to over 148 global destinations. We offer comprehensive training at our state-of-the-art training centre. Our pilots also have the opportunity to live in Dubai, a vibrant and dynamic city. We look forward to welcoming more pilots from Turkey into the Emirates family.”

Opportunities for Pilot Candidates at Emirates

High-Tech Training Facilities

Candidates will undergo a comprehensive training programme supported by 10 simulators at Emirates’ training centre in Dubai. The company has also invested $135 million in a new 63,318-square-metre training facility. This centre, equipped with six Full Flight Simulators for A350 and 777X aircraft, is set to open soon.

Direct Entry Captain

Candidates who will directly serve as captains on A380 or A350 aircraft must have at least 7,000 hours of flight experience on multi-engine, multi-crew commercial aircraft.

Accelerated Command Programme

This special programme offers experienced captains with Airbus or Boeing experience the opportunity to join Emirates as a first officer and progress to captain in a short time. Candidates with at least 1,000 hours of fly-by-wire experience can be promoted after 700 hours of flight time and two successful assessments.

A New Chapter for Unlicensed First Officers

Emirates also welcomes first officers with experience on turboprop or jet aircraft but without a current type rating. These candidates will receive training to operate wide-body aircraft in Emirates’ fleet and have the chance to fly global routes.

Licensed First Officers

Applicants must hold a valid ICAO ATPL licence, have multi-engine, multi-crew aircraft experience, and a minimum of 2,000 flight hours. Selected candidates will operate Emirates’ fleet of 144 Boeing aircraft, serving over 140 destinations, and will also have the opportunity to fly the 205 Boeing 777-X aircraft to be added to the fleet in 2025.
