Change of Flag at TUSAŞ: Farewell and Thanks from Kotil

Temel Kotil, who has been serving as the General Manager of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) since 2016, is stepping down after completing his tenure. During his term, Kotil led the realization of significant projects such as HÜRJET, KAAN, and GÖKBEY, and stated that TUSAŞ has grown fourfold and achieved significant success in the past eight years. Wishing success to the new General Manager Mehmet Demiroğlu and Chairman of the Board Ömer Cihad Vardan, Kotil thanked all his colleagues and state leaders for their support.

In His Statement, Temel Kotil Said:

“In the journey I started in 2016 as the General Manager, we have witnessed the first flights of our country’s first Jet Trainer HÜRJET, the first 5th Generation Fighter KAAN, our first domestic and national helicopter GÖKBEY, HÜRKUŞ-B, T929 ATAK II, ANKA III, and AKSUNGUR. We achieved all these successes together with the great TUSAŞ Family.

In the last eight years, approximately 12,000 friends have joined our family, we have expanded the TUSAŞ family, and by assigning our young engineers and technicians to our country’s most prestigious projects, we have brought them to life. We have made the largest investment in our human resources, which will contribute to our country for years to come.

We equipped our facilities with world-class test centers. The tests for Europe’s second largest “Subsonic Wind Tunnel” have begun, and the world’s fourth largest Composite Facility under one roof has started production to meet 2% of the world’s composite needs.

With TUSAŞ, which has grown fourfold in the last 8 years and achieved a 50% revenue growth in USD terms in 2023, we have prepared the infrastructure for the next century of Turkish Aviation.

With the joy of being part of Turkish Aerospace Industries, the apple of our nation’s eye, I am now handing over the flag. I would like to thank my close colleagues, executive board members, and all my colleagues and their families, with whom we have achieved many great successes together. I would like to especially thank our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who deemed me worthy of this honorable duty eight years ago and stood by us at every step we took, and all the state leaders and commanders who supported me throughout my tenure.

I wish success to my companion, the new General Manager Mr. Mehmet Demiroğlu, and my brother Mr. Ömer Cihad Vardan, who has been elected as Chairman of the Board, in the new term.”
