One of Turkey’s rapidly expanding airlines, AJet, is stepping into a new era with the goal of carrying 20 million passengers in 2024. Under the leadership of CEO Kerem Sarp, the company is expanding its flight network and pursuing a strong growth strategy in both domestic and international routes. With newly added destinations and a modernized fleet, AJet aims to further solidify its position in the industry.
New Destination: Flights to Tuzla Begin
AJet’s latest move is adding Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, to its flight network. The airline will operate weekly flights between Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport and Tuzla International Airport, aiming to boost passenger traffic between the two countries. Highlighting the significant potential of this route due to the large diaspora in Europe, Kerem Sarp said, “This route offers great opportunities both in terms of tourism and trade.”
Fleet Expansion: Aiming for 104 Aircraft in 2024
AJet’s growth plans go beyond new routes. The company aims to increase its fleet to 104 aircraft by the end of 2024, focusing on fuel-efficient, eco-friendly next-generation planes. Kerem Sarp stated, “Expanding our fleet is a significant step in showing our commitment to the environment. With new-generation aircraft, we will achieve fuel savings while offering passengers a more comfortable flight experience.”
New Initiatives in Tourism and Domestic Flights
While continuing its growth in international routes, AJet is also making significant strides in domestic flights. The company plans to tap into Ankara’s potential for domestic flights and attract more tourists from abroad to the Turkish capital. To support this goal, AJet is developing various tourism projects to turn Ankara into a major aviation and tourism hub.
Investment in Pilot Training: Closing the Gap in Turkey
To address the pilot shortage in Turkey’s aviation sector, AJet is preparing to invest in its own pilot training centers. Kerem Sarp noted, “With our plan to establish pilot training and simulator centers, we aim to make a significant contribution to the industry. Our investments will also continue in cabin crew training and IT development.”
2033 Vision: A Fleet of 200 Aircraft
Looking ahead, AJet has ambitious long-term goals. The company plans to expand its fleet to 200 aircraft by 2033, with the intention of launching flights to previously unexplored destinations across Europe, further cementing its position as a regional leader. Kerem Sarp emphasized the importance of quickly finalizing civil aviation agreements to achieve this target.
