United Airlines is expanding its Colombia network with new year-round nonstop service to Cartagena from Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), beginning Dec. 17.
The new routes will operate four times weekly during the winter season on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Flight Schedules, Expansion to Latin America
From Washington Dulles, flights will depart at 8:20 a.m. and arrive in Cartagena at 1:10 p.m., with the return service leaving Cartagena at 4 p.m. and arriving in Washington at 8:40 p.m.
From Houston, flights will depart at 9:35 a.m. and arrive in Cartagena at 2:50 p.m., while return flights will leave Cartagena at 2:20 p.m. and arrive in Houston at 5:45 p.m. United will operate both routes with Boeing 737 aircraft.
“Colombia has been an important part of United‘s Latin America network for more than 30 years, and our new service to Cartagena reflects our continued investment in the country and commitment to offering customers new and distinct travel experiences,” said Patrick Quayle, Senior VP of Network Planning and Global Alliances, United Airlines, in a media statement.
The expansion makes Cartagena United’s third destination in Colombia, joining Bogota and Medellin. Through the airline’s Houston and Washington hubs, travelers will have one-stop access to more than 70 destinations across the United States.
United currently offers nonstop service to 57 destinations from Houston and 18 from Dulles. The airline will operate Boeing 737 aircraft on the new routes, featuring seatback entertainment screens with Bluetooth connectivity, larger overhead bins and, in the future, complimentary Starlink WiFi for MileagePlus members.
