As of May 10, 2026, the “silent airport” application is being introduced at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport. While announcements will be reduced, digital screens, the mobile application, and the AI-supported SAVVy system will take the lead in passenger information services.
The new application set to transform the passenger experience at ISG goes live on May 10
As of May 10, 2026, Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen (ISG) International Airport is launching the “silent airport” application, which will reduce the number of announcements across the terminal by increasing the effectiveness of digital and visual communication channels for passenger information.
Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen (ISG) International Airport has added another initiative to its efforts to enhance the passenger experience, in line with decisions taken during HALİNKOK (Air Transport Facilitation Committee) and Airport Operations Committee (AOC) meetings aimed at increasing comfort within the terminal. As of Sunday, May 10, the “silent airport” application will officially be implemented.
Within the scope of this application, the number of announcements made throughout the terminal will be significantly reduced. Announcements will only be made in emergencies, for critical security-related information, and for operational necessities (exceptional situations).

A holistic approach supporting the passenger experience
Under the new application, passengers will be able to follow flight information through the flight information display systems (FIDS) located throughout the terminal, their preferred airline communication channels (applications and SMS/email notifications), the Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport mobile application, and by using the SAVVy Digital Assistant.
In line with increasing passenger volume, diversifying travel needs, and intensive operational structure, only necessary announcements will be made throughout the terminal. Non-operational and repetitive announcements will be reduced to a minimum level.
With the silent airport approach, which is widely used at many international airports around the world, the aim is to reduce the number of announcements and noise pollution at airports.
Since announcements will not be made except in emergencies, critical security-related information, and operational necessities caused by exceptional situations, it becomes increasingly important for passengers to check their flight status via boarding gates and pay attention to gate closing times.

A “silent” era at Sabiha Gökçen Terminal
The Silent Airport application is being implemented not only as a regulation related to announcement processes, but also as part of a holistic approach addressing the overall terminal experience.
With the “silent airport” application, passengers will be able to access the information they need through different channels during their time in the terminal; while supporting a more organised management of the travel process, it also enables easier navigation, gate tracking, and monitoring of flight processes.
Uninterrupted information flow through digital channels, mobile application, and SAVVy
As part of the application, a multi-channel communication structure has been established by increasing the effectiveness of digital and visual channels in passenger information services. In addition to real-time information provided through flight information display systems (FIDS) and gate screens located throughout the terminal, passengers can also follow the latest developments regarding their flights via the Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen mobile application.
Thanks to flight tracking and instant notifications provided through the mobile application, passengers are supported with quick access to information regarding their travel processes. This particularly contributes to more effective management of flight processes during busy travel periods.
Sabiha Gökçen Airport’s generative AI-supported digital assistant SAVVy is also among the supporting elements of the application. Serving through the website, mobile application, and the recently launched WhatsApp integration, SAVVy provides instant responses to questions regarding flight information, terminal services, gate information, terminal directions, and the airport experience.
Thanks to the WhatsApp integration, passengers can access up-to-date information regarding flight status through SAVVy, receive support related to terminal processes, and easily manage their travel processes through a single channel.
With its AI-supported infrastructure operating 24/7, SAVVy accelerates passengers’ access to information while contributing to a more accessible, user-focused, and uninterrupted digital passenger experience.

A service approach aligned with global practices
The Silent Airport approach is among the contemporary passenger experience practices implemented at many international airports around the world.
With this application, Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport continues its efforts towards passenger satisfaction while further strengthening its service approach aligned with global aviation standards.
ISG, aiming to continuously improve technology-focused service processes centred on user experience, continues to offer accessible, fast, and sustainable solutions at different stages of the terminal experience.
