On the morning of 15 November, a passenger aircraft that took off from Vladivostok bound for Blagoveshchensk made an emergency landing at Khabarovsk Airport due to a technical malfunction. The aircraft was carrying 90 passengers and a five-person crew.
According to initial reports, shortly after takeoff a structural issue was detected in the fuselage, prompting the aircraft to change course and divert to Khabarovsk, where it landed at 09:00. Footage circulating on social media clearly shows a tear that formed on the fuselage during the flight.
The pilots carried out the emergency landing in accordance with procedures, and the operation was completed without incident. It was confirmed that all passengers and crew members escaped unharmed.
Comprehensive Investigation by Prosecutors
The Khabarovsk Transport Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fuselage damage and the sequence of events leading to the technical malfunction. The Far Eastern Transport Prosecutor’s Office is closely monitoring whether all passenger rights are being upheld while they wait for a replacement aircraft.
Additionally, the Primorsky Transport Prosecutor’s Office will conduct a detailed review of the maintenance and inspection procedures carried out at Vladivostok Airport, where the aircraft was prepared before departure. The examination may reveal potential violations related to aircraft maintenance protocols.
Efforts are ongoing to reroute passengers to alternative flights following the incident.
