Fight and Spitting Incident on Plane Created Tension

Ryanair’s London Luton–Alicante flight made an emergency landing in Toulouse after a group of British passengers caused a fight and unrest on board. Police intervened, and Ryanair reiterated its “zero-tolerance” policy.

On 26 September, a major incident occurred on Ryanair flight FR8425, which took off from London Luton Airport bound for Alicante. A group of British men caused a disturbance during the flight by fighting, spitting on seats, and behaving inappropriately, leading the captain to divert the plane to Toulouse, France.

Footage shared on TikTok, later removed, showed passengers being escorted off the plane by police. Passenger Tania Nichols, who experienced the incident, reported that the group was “loud, unruly, and using inappropriate language,” and even attempted physical contact with some passengers. Nichols also emphasised that the cabin crew acted in an “exceptionally professional” manner.

Ryanair told The Independent, “Due to a small group of passengers causing trouble, the captain diverted the aircraft to Toulouse. After the passengers were removed by police, the flight continued to Alicante.”

The airline stated that it has a “zero-tolerance policy” against passenger abuse and that all necessary steps were taken to protect the safety of both passengers and crew.
