Turkish Red Crescent Sends Humanitarian Aid to Earthquake Victims in Afghanistan via Military Aircraft
The Turkish Red Crescent is delivering food and hygiene packages prepared for those affected by the magnitude-6 earthquake in Afghanistan using a military aid aircraft.
Aid Being Delivered Rapidly
In a statement, the Red Crescent emphasized that humanitarian aid efforts launched after the earthquake are ongoing. The Red Crescent delegation in Afghanistan is being supported by expert personnel sent from Ankara, while locally sourced food packages and hot meal distributions are also helping the affected population.
Sent via Military Aircraft
The military aid aircraft, prepared in coordination with AFAD and taking off from the 12th Air Transport Main Base, was loaded with food and hygiene packages sufficient for over a thousand people by the Red Crescent. Following the aircraft’s arrival in Afghanistan, the aid will be distributed to those in need in the disaster-affected area.

In its statement, the Turkish Red Crescent conveyed the message, “We will continue to stand with the people of Afghanistan,” announcing that it will carry on its international humanitarian aid efforts.
