The lawsuit related to the plane crash at Sabiha Gökçen Airport in Turkey, which occurred four years ago, has been concluded in the United States. In the case filed due to the plane skidding off the runway on February 5, 2020, Boeing has agreed to compensate the victims.
Attorney Seyit Şahin, representing some of the crash victims, announced that Boeing has opted for a settlement and agreed to pay satisfactory compensation to his clients. Şahin stated that the necessary steps were taken to protect his clients’ rights.
At the core of the case were allegations of manufacturing defects in the automatic braking and throttle systems of the aircraft involved in the crash. While lawyers emphasized the role of these defects in the incident, reports also mentioned pilot error.
In the 2020 accident, a passenger plane landing at Sabiha Gökçen Airport skidded off the runway, resulting in the deaths of 3 people and injuries to 179 passengers.
