An unusual incident on a China Eastern Airlines flight has left both passengers and aviation authorities stunned. A passenger opened the emergency exit door of the aircraft upon landing at an airport in Yunnan Province, triggering the evacuation slide. His reason: he “wanted to get some fresh air”.
The event occurred shortly after the plane landed, when the man pulled the emergency exit lever, causing the door to open and the inflatable slide to deploy. The incident caused brief panic in the cabin, but the crew responded swiftly. The evacuation of passengers was delayed by approximately 20 minutes.

After the aircraft had landed, police were called to the scene. In line with security protocols, the passenger responsible was taken into custody. Under Chinese law, such actions that endanger aviation safety can result in fines ranging from 100,000 to 200,000 yuan (approximately 27,700 USD).
