With the critical protocol signed between TÜRKSAT and ROKETSAN, Türkiye is entering a new era in domestic satellite launch and space systems.
A critical cooperation aimed at strengthening Türkiye’s domestic capabilities in space and satellite technologies has been launched. The “Cooperation Protocol in the Field of Satellite Launch and Space Systems” signed between TÜRKSAT and ROKETSAN aims to elevate Türkiye’s satellite production, orbital technologies, and space access capacity to a new level.
According to information included in the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure’s TÜRKSAT Inc. 2025 Activity Report, the two institutions will work together in joint design, production, and technology development processes.
Strategic Cooperation in Domestic Satellite and Launch Technologies
Under the protocol signed between TÜRKSAT and ROKETSAN, joint activities will be carried out in the fields of:
Satellite communication systems
- Launch technologies
- Orbital access systems
- Space infrastructures
- National space projects
Direct Contribution to the National Space Program
The domestically developed systems are planned to be used directly in Türkiye’s national space program satellite projects and future launch systems.
It was also stated that TÜRKSAT continues to grow not only as a satellite operator but also as a global digital infrastructure provider.
Uzbekistan Ministry of Defense Project Coming Online
According to the activity report, the Ku-band gateway satellite ground station established within the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan, along with mobile and fixed terminals, is expected to become fully operational this year.
This project is considered one of the important steps increasing Türkiye’s international influence in defense and satellite communications.
The African Market Has Become a New Revenue Gateway for Türkiye
TÜRKSAT’s secure communication projects, particularly across the African continent, are drawing attention.
Coverage Area of the Domestic Satellite Fleet Expands
The report emphasized that global partnerships established in regions outside the coverage area of the domestic satellite fleet have become a strategic source of revenue.
It was stated that secure communication services continue in many African countries, while international expansion has accelerated.
Overseas Revenues Reached 7.1 Million Dollars
The financial growth of TÜRKSAT’s global operations was also reflected in the report.
Revenues Doubled Within One Year
The overseas revenue volume, which stood at 3.4 million dollars in 2024, increased to 7.1 million dollars in 2025.

It was announced that the number of terminals used across corporate, public, mobile, and maritime platforms reached approximately 7,600.

Historic Application From Türkiye for LEO and MEO
Türkiye has taken its first official step for multi-orbit satellite systems, considered among the space technologies of the future.
First Official Application Submitted to ITU
For the first time on behalf of Türkiye, TÜRKSAT submitted official applications to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) constellation satellite systems.
With this move, Türkiye aims to:
Protect frequency rights in non-GEO orbits
