Turkish Airlines is increasing its flights to China, Japan, and Southeast Asia. The carrier will expand its East Asia flight network during the 2026 summer season.
Türkiye’s flag carrier, Turkish Airlines, has announced new capacity increases that will accelerate its growth in the East Asian market. Starting from June 2026, the airline will significantly increase frequencies on routes to China, Japan, and Southeast Asia, strengthening its operational presence across the region.
Under the new schedule, weekly flight frequencies from Istanbul to several key destinations will be increased, aiming to meet rising passenger demand during the busy summer season.
Significant Capacity Increase on China Routes
China operations stand out in Turkish Airlines’ newly announced operational plan. The airline will increase frequencies to some of China’s most important commercial and financial hubs.
Istanbul – Beijing Route Moves to Daily Operations
On the Beijing Capital route, weekly flights will increase from 13 to 14 as of June 15, 2026. With this adjustment, Turkish Airlines will operate daily services on the route.
Guangzhou Flights Increase to 13 Weekly Frequencies
On the Guangzhou route, weekly frequencies will rise from 10 to 13 starting June 18, 2026. The operation is expected to continue with 12 weekly frequencies after September 17, 2026.
New Increase on the Shanghai Route
A capacity increase is also planned for Shanghai Pudong operations. Beginning July 3, 2026, weekly frequencies will increase from 13 to 14.
Growth Continues on Southeast Asia Flights
Southeast Asian destinations also play a major role in Turkish Airlines’ new planning. Additional capacity will be introduced, particularly at transit-heavy hubs.
Kuala Lumpur Frequencies to Reach 20 Weekly Flights
Between June 21 and September 13, 2026, nonstop direct flights to Kuala Lumpur will increase from 14 to 15 weekly frequencies. Total weekly operations on the route will rise from 19 to 20.
New Direct Flight Increase for Singapore
Turkish Airlines is also planning capacity growth on its Singapore operations. As of June 19, 2026, nonstop direct flights will increase from 14 to 15 weekly frequencies, bringing the total weekly frequency to 18.
Hong Kong Route Reaches Daily Flight Operations
On the Hong Kong route, weekly flights will increase from 13 to 14 starting June 15, allowing the airline to operate daily services.
Strong Growth Planned for Tokyo Narita Operations
Turkish Airlines is also planning a notable increase in its Japan operations. Weekly flights on the Tokyo Narita route will rise from 10 to 12 beginning June 16, 2026.
According to the airline’s schedule, the operation will continue with 11 weekly frequencies after September 20, 2026.
Turkish Airlines Strengthens Its Competitive Position in Asia
Turkish Airlines’ new frequency increases are seen as an important part of the company’s Asia-Pacific growth strategy. Following the post-pandemic recovery in the Asian aviation market, the airline is aiming to increase its share of transit passenger traffic across the region.
Through its Istanbul-centered global connectivity model, Turkish Airlines intends to offer more transfer options for passengers traveling from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa to Asia.
